Have read all of the Artemis Fowl series so far. Yes I'm 43, but as my wife says, I'm just a big kid. The stories are great. Would recommend to anyone. I'm saving mine for my three year old son to read when hes' old enough. As good as the Harry Potter stories (which I loved as well). If you like a laugh, with magic and fast paced fun, you'll love these books. BUY THEM ALL NOW!!! Well done Eoin.

Artemis Fowl seems to have become just another money making franchise. Despite the time it took for him to write this, it seems to have been rushed and not a great amount of thought put into it... Artemis has lost his egde, the series has become similar to Alex Rider - I read them simply because I've read the others, not because the stories are great. Readable... not great. Perhaps he needs to read his first few books, to get back into it.

As usual Eoin Colfer has delivered us a fabulous tale, full of wit and suspense. I am 69 years old and my friends in the U.K and in America read Eoin's childrens books and we can't wait for the next one. I pass mine on to my grand children. My husband buys his copies to keep. We love them. FANTASTIC.

I was very excited to recieve this for my birthday, and began reading it straight away. Little over a day later i'd finshed it and found myself re-reading the entire series from the first book. (I'm 25)
I loved this book, all the best characters are back...Holly, Mulch, Foaly and of course Artemis, and it all starts with Artemis' plan to save the world.
You don't read many childrens books containing mental illness, and Colfer does this in an unflinching and clever way. Its often funny, i found myself laughing out loud many times, but also it comes across as very real and you are really sucked into Artemis' battle with his mental state.
The action is non stop, and all the witty one liners are there, Some very funny ones from Mulch and Foaly who are a little unsympthantic to Arty's illness.
I'd reccomend it to any one who loves this series, and really cannot wait for the next one.

Have been reading the Artemis Fowl books right from the start, always look forward to a new book with great anticipation.
Artemis has been busy inventing a way of saving the polar caps, but he's also developing obsessive compulsive disorder with paranoia. As a result, he's losing his rational and logical personality and when trouble hits, he ends up lost in his own mind as his friends are under attack from an imprisoned criminal with designs on world domination.
The main problem for me, while excellently written and zips along at the usual frenetic pace, is that without the solid dependable Artemis and his mastermind character, the story falls mainly on the shoulders of Holly, Butler and co. While not necessarily a bad thing (these are great characters capable of holding centre-stage) - this is exactly the point - why is this an Artemis Fowl book at all? If needed be, I'm sure Colfer could have concocted a 'spin-off' adventure for the fairy people. Artemis seems to be just along for the ride on this one and that seems a shame, as the series up til now has been based on Artemis' character developing as he gets more involved with the fairy people, and this hasn't really moved forward with 'Atlantis Complex'.
Also, the arch-enemy seems a bit feeble, his motivations rather blurred and his eventual defeat rather unsatisfying to my mind.
In conclusion - I'd like more Artemis Fowl in the next Artemis Fowl story!
